2nd 3rd actually 1st

Maybe its an omen for the w/e and CapTex, I really doubt it, but when I got home from work I collected my mail from the box, and much to my surprise inside was a 3rd prize for the Texas Roundup 5k 50-54 age group.

I hadn't even checked the results, I just wanted to do a good time as the last race without the built-up shoe, 25:11 wasn't it as far as I was concerned. In fact I was 2:33 behind 2nd place

Interestingly, my time for the BagelFest 5k was only 6-seconds faster in the built-up shoe, and only got me 10th place in the same age group. You've got to be in it to win it!

So, this was my first 3rd place of this year, followed by the Rookie Triathlon. I'd like to think I could be in the top3 off the bike at the Olympic distance at CapTex, heres to dreaming!

In search of a sub-25 5k!
Re: sweet!
Given I'm in the first age group wave, right after the pro's, if you happen to be anywhere useful it would be good to know what place I'm in out of the swim, transition, or back in on the bike. I've decided to do it as a "hail mary" event, just go as fast as I can for as long as I can and hope to get under 2:35. Knowing where I am helps keep me going!
