USAT/WTC Love-in

So, it seems that USA Triathlon have found a way to go forward with the World Triathlon Corporation over race organisation and sanctioning. Thanks to Henry Budgett from the triathletes-uk website who pointed to this story.

It will be interesting to see what happens now to the USAT HalfMax race series and National Championships in St Louis on September 16th. Hopefully the series will be a sucess and will come back even stronger in 2007 and beyond, and it won't turn out to have just been a bargaining chip between USAT and the WTC who have their own half-distance 70.3 race series and World Championships for the first time, also in September this year.

On a personal note, I am actually considering entering a USAT Half Max qualifer after todays Danbury Half Marathon run. I felt better after a half marathon that I ever have before, after what has a hilly half. My training is going well to try to put in my first serious half distance event at the Florida 70.3 (Half Ironman) race on May 21st. I'm pretty sure I'll have a go at the Mussleman on July 16th assuming St Anthonys goes well on April 30th.
