Alone together

The great thing about being in a big city on your own on valentines day, is of course you are never really alone.

After lunch at Isabellas with complete strangers, thanks for making the reservation Eric and thanks to you and your wife for the company, it was off on a walking tour of the bike shops in Manhattan above 47th St, five bike shops, a walk across Central Park, about one hundred(100) city blocks and a stop off at the Beekman Cinema on 2nd Ave. to see The Dreamers, I was back in the noise and hubub of Times Square.

No matter where you turn, restaurants, bars, sidewalks, coffee shops, newgroups and chat rooms there are people who are alone. However, in a big city when every other person is carrying roses, hellium heart-shaped ballons, you are never alone. Squashed into Starbucks for a triple-shot, wi-fi service and some warmth you find yourself closer to other people than, err, when you started dating...

I've nothing much to offer
There's nothing much to take...
As long as we're together
The rest can go to hell
