Seear'ing hot!

It's freezing here in NY today, despite a gloriously sunny day and a long walk to Gotham Cycles on West Broadway and then across the Brooklyn Bridge to R&A Cycles, I never really warmed up while outdoors.

The same couldn't be said for Maxine Seear down under. The prolific 19-year old celebrated last weeks Olympic selection by not only winning the last race in the series, but also stole the series from Rina Hill. The Australian has the scoop!

Drafting was introduced to elite standard(Olympic) distance racing to make it more exciting to watch both live and on tv. (Frankly it was really too difficult keeping the elites from drafting, so they gave up trying...). Well today it happened. A major pack pile-up and serious injuries halted the mens race. Drafting, its as much cheating in triathlon as taking drugs, and just like drugs it hurts people around you to! The pack mentality ? Blood on the tracks

Talking of drugs, in the cycling world, flawed genious Marco Pantani died of a heart attack in a hotel room yesterday. Pantani was the last cyclist to win the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France in the same year and was only 34-years old. His career was blighted by a failed drug test and continued drug abuse leading to depression. Sigh...

It's something unpredicatable
but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.
