Mr & Mrs Richard Bell - Las Vegas

It was a fantastic wedding. If I had to describe an informal, formal wedding this would have been it.

Ella and Rich organized it by themselves. Back in November 2006, I went for a run down the strip armed with the addresses of all the "wedding chapels". You can still see the pictures I took, online to help them decide where, since they didn't want a big hotel wedding.

On the Sunday, Cassidy and I met Ella and Rich for appetizers at the Mirage, and then went to see the Beatles/cirque du soleil Love show. It was fantastic, a very good interpretation of the remixed Beatles "tunes", full of energy, colour and some great dancing. It turns out, somewhat ironic as well that I'd chosen to take them to this show, more on that in a minute.

Come the wedding on Tuesday, my sister Julie and I shared a cab up to the Paris where the other 20 guests were staying, before long we were off in Limo's to the Little Chapel of Flowers for the ceremony. I had no idea what the ceremony would be like, but I have to say the Little Chapel of Flowers team did a fantastic job. Ella and Rich had sent in music in advance, they'd chosen All You Need is Love by the Beatles to walk down the isle, an acoustic version of Green Days Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) or as Ella put it, the karaoke version, and then finally, Stevie Wonders Signed, Sealed and Delivered at the end of the ceremony.

After the ceremony, there were Limo's to Maggianos in the Fashion Mall where we had a private room set aside, 4-hours of great food and drink, a few informal speeches, of which, Rich did great, and generally a really enjoyable time. I don't have many pictures yet, although I've seen the official set, but I really like this picture of Oli, Ella and I, and yes the bubbles were real, they were part of the table dressing Ella organized and bought from the UK.

After Maggianos, the whole wedding party, including Ella and Rich, jumped in cabs, headed up to the Paris hotel and finished the evening up the Eiffel Tower.

Ella and Rich have now headed off for a 3-week tour of South America, including hiking the Inca trail and Machupicchu, Rio and Buenes Aires and more.

Despite Wendys goading, I'd have posted this anyway. And no, I didn't swim, run or bike while in Vegas.

"So take the photographs, and still frames in your mind.
Hang it on a shelf in good health and good time.
Tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial,
For what it's worth it was worth all the while,
It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life."
