The roads were freshly salted, so you know it was cold and the sky was a bright, deep blue with the sun already up. I had my ears protected by Frank Hilderbrands' Dads patented ear warmers and we were off.
I felt sluggish on the way out to Ashridge via How Wood, Pimlico, Nash Mills, Hemel and Berkhampstead but having taken a break up by the monument, found my second wind on the way back home. hitting speeds of 26 and 32MPH and averaging out at 21MPH for the return.
Yes, its good to be back on the road!
