Sierra to the Sea 2007

Well my season is starting to take shape. Originally this year I had planned to focus on long course and maybe, just maybe go to Kona for my 50th triathlon after my 50th birthday, but with all the changes in 2006 and a great new job I just won't be able to do the training. Maybe another year...

So another long time objective was to go on a bike tour. Two of my friends Miguel and Peggy regularly do the Sierra to the Sea tour organised by Almaden Cycling and Touring Club (ACTC) and last night I signed up. The tour sold out within an hour I'm told! It's 420-miles and averages 60 miles per day for each of seven cycling days from the Sierra mountains back to San Francisco, nights are spent camping!

I also read about the Cactus Challenge triathlon here in Austin this morning and signed up to give my early season some focus, so it looks like I'll be doing:

March 10th    Go For the Gold 10k, Austin TX
April 15th       Austin Cactus Challenge (olympic distance)
April 29th       St. Anthony's Triathlon, St Petersburg, FL(olympic distance)
May 20th        Austin Triathletes Open Water Swim race
May 28th        Capital of Texas triathlon(probably, may volunteer though)
June 16-23    Sierra to the Sea bike tour
Sept. 23rd      Sand Key Sprint Triathlon Clearwater FL(defend title ;-) )
Sept  30th       LongHorn Half Iron Triathlon
Oct.                 IBM Up Town Classic 10k
Nov. 11th        Triathlon oneOone series finale, The Woodlands (North Huston)

So shaping up nicely! Must get the running sorted out before too much longer though...
